It’s no secret that I like to throw a good party, and also make everyone in my life dress up for it. A few Davidson family milestones lined up to provide the perfect opportunity once again! Last year Kevin and I both turned 30 and celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary, as well as 10 years together as a couple. Don’t worry, we’ve already decided that a major party is going to be a THING every 5 years.
As we were brainstorming what sort of theme we wanted, we looked at ideas that were fun and funky, but also made more sense to pursue at this time in our lives, and probably not when we’re 60. Pirates it was!
Luckily, I knew of a few friendors who could help me pull off a party like this, starting with the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club as a venue. They provided us with the perfect blank slate and downtown location to pull together our shipwrecked lagoon, while also making a killer rum punch. Rentals from A La Crate also made our guests feel like they could be forced to walk the plank any minute!
One of my FAVORITE pieces I want to highlight though is our costumes, custom created for us by my mother-in-law Patty Davidson, owner of Regency Fiber Arts. She’s helped me on a few special wedding projects now and is really in a class of her own as a seamstress.

And finally, it wouldn’t be a Kevin and Sarah Davidson celebration without a choreographed dance. Please enjoy 🙂
