Bailey + Mason: Orpheum Theater Wedding

April 15, 2020 By Sarah Davidson

With so many great vendors in our area I try very hard not to play favorites. Everyone brings their own unique spin to things and usually does a great job, so I think it’s important to spread the love!

That being said, The Orpheum Theater in downtown Madison will ALWAYS be one of my favorite venues to work at. It’s different, edgy, and honestly a bit of a challenge.. something that you know we’re always up for 🙂 This is why when Bailey and Mason reached out to us last spring to be a part of their August wedding, we couldn’t wait to jump aboard!

These two, as well as their friends and families, were just some of the sweetest people we’ve ever worked with. Mason is originally from Alabama, so there was no shortage of southern charm available, while Bailey’s family provided the local Madison vibe we all know and love. Everyone welcomed us into the celebration without hesitation, including their pup, Woodford!

I’d like to give a huge shoutout to Dutcher Photography for their work capturing everything, as well as just being a great partner to work with throughout the day. It was our first time together, and I can’t wait for many more events to come. Our business vibes jive well together, and they might just need to be another we add to that secret “favorites” list.

Congrats Bailey + Mason!

Phantom of the Opera Inspired Styled Shoot: The Orpheum Theater

May 2, 2019 By Sarah Davidson

As an event planner and designer, we get to part of some pretty amazing collaborations in our area. One of our favorites occurred last summer, when we were approached with the opportunity to coordinate our first ever styled shoot through the Wedding Planner & Guide, one of Madison’s great sources of wedding inspiration.

Our approach to this design mirrored our approach to our business.. bold and different, but beautiful all the same. Looking at past spreads and what was currently trending in design, we knew that we wanted a look that readers wouldn’t be expecting before turning to our page, and that dared to go dark. The Orpheum Theater provided us the perfect backdrop to build around.

This shoot allowed my girl Jessie to make her debut as HUE’s in-house florist, and pull together a few key designs to soften our edges and bring the romance back. Her work, along with favors and stationery from Sugar Pear Design, including specialty acrylic invitations, showed that an elegant affair can truly be pulled off anywhere, as long as you have the right team.

Given how dark we knew the elements of the shoot would be, lighting would play a key role in developing some of the more delicate ambiance details. Chance Productions came through for us, putting the final touches on our focal chandelier piece just days before we came together.

Thank you to the team for such wonderful work!

Jessa + Kevin: Bartell Theatre + Madison Concourse Hotel Wedding

June 21, 2017 By Sarah Davidson

Jessa and Kevin’s wedding was the perfect way to set the mood for fall. I admired their down-to-earth attitude in planning, and also their willingness to embrace the season for the early October nuptials. I’m talking leaves, pumpkin cake, and caramel apples galore… yum! Additionally, I loved their creativity in venue selection for their ceremony: the centrally-located Bartell Theater. If you haven’t been there before or you’re looking for an event space of your own, I would highly recommend it!

The reception at The Madison Concourse Hotel was one of classic elegance, complete with romantic lighting and spot-on draping from Event Essentials. To keep things interesting, Kuhl Entertainment provided Tuxedo Trivia, and guests chowed down on Ian’s Pizza until the party closed. I’d consider this nothing but timeless in my books.

Congrats Jessa and Kevin!

Sammie + Alex: Majestic Theater Wedding

May 10, 2017 By Sarah Davidson

Many times when you enter into a relationship with a client, it’s hard to tell at first what it will be like to work together. It’s always pleasantries during the initial email or meet and greet, but you don’t really know personalities until you’re within the nitty gritty of it all. In Sammie and Alex’s case however, it was nothing but joy throughout the entire planning process. From our first meeting at One Barrel Brewing, to the rehearsal at Central Park, they had positive vibes and were simply ready to throw a great party!

One of my favorite details of their big day was the decision to hire The Kingfish Band, out of Chicago. They are hands down one of the best cover bands I’ve ever heard. They kept the night energized and the dance floor packed. Another favorite piece of the day was the citrus themed decor and centerpieces, inspired by their healthy lifestyle as well as the bright summer sun!

Congrats Sammie and Alex!
